What's New at The Paxton
Downtown Living Tour. The Downtown Condo Tour was another big success this year! The Paxton and Downtown showed well last Saturday as thousands of people attended the event. Many thanks to all of the volunteers including the Duschene Dance Team who ran the elevators. A special thank you to Ed & Carol Honig for their assistance on the tour. It was an extra special endorsement having our residents share their story about their enjoyment of Downtown living in The Paxton! Meet & Greet. Our May 'Meet and Greet' started in our beautiful lobby with cocktails and appetizers. We then ventured way out west to the Omaha Community Playhouse and enjoyed a fabulous showing of the play 'Twelve Angry Men'. One of our residents, Scott Kroeker, played Juror #2 in the play. Nice Job, Scott! Exercise Room. Shamrock recently purchased a few new items for the Exercise Room. The Original Club Step for aerobic work outs and the Bender Ball for ab crunches also include work out DVD's. This month we will be installing another TV and DVD above the wood dance floor so you may enjoy video workouts as well! Enjoy you new workouts! Open Houses. We are pleased to show off our new model as well! The Loyal unit on the 7th Floor is now complete Stop by any of our Open House to see it. We are open Wednesdays from 11:00 to 2:00, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00. For a private tour contact Cindy Cawley at 415-8881 or Patty Kunsemiller at 319-9869. Construction on two 11th floor units is well underway and our residents will be moving in later this month and in August. Downtown Events. The list on the right of fun things to do Downtown this month looks fun! Come on down and spend a weekend enjoying the museums, events and the parks. You won't be disappointed! What's New DowntownNow that summer is finally here, enjoy all of the outdoor activities going on Downtown this month. Taste of Omaha, Sand in the City, Urban Adventure Bike Race, The Farmers Market and the Old Market Gallery Crawl, just to name a few. The Sculpture Garden at The Joslyn opens this weekend and kicks off with a free weekend of free admission, inside and out! The Peter Kiewit Foundation Sculpture Garden is 1.2 acres divided into distinct garden galleries, surrounded by a low wall of Lake Superior Green granite. The College World Series opens its 11 day tournament on June 12 with a Fan Fest at Rosenblatt. The Opening Ceremony begins at 9:00 PM and features team introductions, parachute jump team, and a fireworks finale. The Future of Downtown
The Downtown Master Plan has been unveiled! The plan, which can be seen on the City of Omaha Website, shows that there is still a lot more great things to come for Downtown. The plan sets the vision for Downtown for the next 30 years. |
